Festival Life

I don’t think I’d realized how much I missed the Brooklyn Book Festival until yesterday. That has something to do with the fact that there was an iteration of the festival last year, albeit one with no bookfair due to deeply awful weather. And there was something about the experience of walking through the area around Brooklyn Borough Hall and running into people — some of whom I hadn’t seen since before the pandemic — that was very welcome.

Getting to moderate a panel with Tracey Rose Peyton, Richard Mirabella, and Adam Mansbach was also eminently rewarding; all three writers had plenty to say, and I’m hopeful that the attendees enjoyed the discussion.

Later that night, I made my way to Gowanus for a Whisk(e)y Tit event in an art space; I got to read from the finished version of In the Sight for the first time, signed some books, and caught up with friends new and old.

Now, it’s back to catching up on email and listening to the music of Felt.
